The king of Alur Ubimo Phillip Olarker Rauni III has urged the people of Alur and Uganda to embrace peace especially during this period of election.
Speaking during his 10th coronation anniversary His Majesty Olarker said that the Alur people are generally peaceful and hardworking therefore as campaigns continue, there is need to maintain the peace and love that they share as Alur people.
“I am aware that there are candidates with diversionary political views and parties but they need to be encouraged to always come together to support the winning candidates for the sake of unity and development” he said.
He added that elected leaders should be able to promote peace and justice and not hatred among the people because the Alur people are one.
Meanwhile Rt. Hon Vincent Ochaya Orach the Jadipu (Prime Minister) of Alur kingdom in his remarks appreciated the partners for their commitment towards supporting projects in the kingdom which has led to the development of the institution.
“I would like to specially thank MTN Uganda for the support towards the coronation anniversary and also the two-year partnership they have offered the kingdom while other partners like cross cultural foundation (CCFU), Action Aid among others for their continued support” he said
While representing the MTN Uganda CEO at the coronation event in Zombo recently, MTN Uganda’s Regional Business Manager, James Ndyamuhaki reiterated the importance of MTN working with the Ker Alur Kingdom and went on to congratulate Ubimo upon his great milestone.
“On behalf of MTN Uganda, I congratulate the Ubimo of Ker Alur upon this tremendous milestone. I applaud him for his insightful and wise leadership that he has offered the people of Ker Alur over the years. I offer good wishes to the people of Ker Alur,” Ndyamuhaki said.
Ndyamuhaki further emphasized that, MTN is focused on actively demonstrating what can be achieved if the company works together to enable a shared value system. “We firmly believe that we are good together, because MTN only succeeds if the communities in which we operate succeed”, Mr. Ndyamuhaki added.
